Dear Ruthless Chaos players!
Recently, our hosting service informed us that they will soon stop offering their service. This means that we need to find a new hosting service for Ruthless Chaos, and transfer all the data from our previous host to the new one. The service will end the 26th July, which normally would mean that from that day until we had found a new hosting service and set up everything correctly (would normally take a couple of weeks), Ruthless Chaos would be offline.
You might have noticed that in the last days, the playerbase of Ruthless Chaos has decreased, and the server is in need of a powerful revival. That's why we decided that it's the moment of transitioning into Season 2. The original idea was to change the season when the Ruthless Seven were defeated. However, the timeline and initial design of the server made it impossible for this quest to be completed this Season.
We are strong learners and believe that we can use our mistakes towards improvement. Season 2 will implement a whole new set of upgrades that will ensure the continuity of multiple teams able to face the fierce masters of Hell towards the end of the season.
The new Season of Ruthless Chaos will offer a whole new set of experiences and a lot of new content with the addition of the ice continent of Frisiga, located to the north of Elendia, which will have a special, different gameplay design.
What will make it different from the other continents you have already seen? We want it to have a constant RPG design throughout all the progress players will make through it.
Right now, at the beginning of the game, the RPG feeling is on the level of what we wanted to achieve, but at higher level, it quite differs from what we expected. Our end goal is to enhance exploring and questing and we didn't fulfill that concept recently, focusing more on the grinding/powergaming aspect of the game. For this reason, Frisiga will specially focus on RPG, the map will rather contain secret zones with difficult access and more quest variety, while obviously not forgeting about the need of efficient hunting spots. Also, more background stories behind quests will be included.
Furthermore, Port Sarlin is a very important city for players, but its design did not live up to the expectations of the mapping level we want this server to have. As asked by many players, it will be redesigned, making it an actual Port and up to people's expectations of an important node in the adventure of a player.
In addition, we have also realized that for many players, Hell introduced more difficulty in understanding its gameplay rather than actually playing it. As a result of those issues, it will be more intuitive and easy to understand, aswell as slightly expanded with some more areas, creatures and bosses.
Many people criticized the Sarlin Society task system, saying it was too repetitive and low rewarding. We enhanced the rewards, but the purpose of a quest is to be fun, and more if it's a mandatory task to complete the Ruthless Chaos quest. These problems will be solved within Season 2 by revamping this task system, allowing players to do all the tasks an NPC of the Sarlin Society has to offer at the same time, reducing the number of kills, but adding more tasks to increase variety.
Last but not least, we'd like to comment that we will create many more quests that are completelly independent of the main storyline. We believe it spices up the missions system and adds improves to the gaming experience.
