This morning i was watching the highscores list of the server. Something attracted my attention, there were a lot of players in medium levels, around 100-200. Then i realized that a lot of persons have played this server for a good amount of days until they stoped playing. And i wonder what was the thing that made them stop playing the server they seriously liked? Thats an important question, not only for me but also for the GM because if they were able to dig deeply into this players issue, they would be able to have a bigger community of players, which would be good for the server. With this thread, i desire to discover this problem to the rest of players and all together discuss about it, talk about the reasons the players leave and suggest improvements to avoid that. If you are a passionate of this server, express your opinion and give suggestions IMPORTANT EDITION: I have realized there are new missions in first rank, explorer rank and adventurer rank of sarlin soceity which means that players wont have as much problems as I did while uping levels and they wont stay so stuck. I re-do my opinion and no longer consider that players being stuck is a real problem of the server.

My guess is it used to be Prison Island. Without a decent team it can't be done and even then it's a big difficulty spike. Now that you can actually skip prison I'd say it's The Sorcerer. I've always said more people die to Sorcerer than Prison Island. People just get to that point where they can no longer progress and get bored of just leveling for level's sake.
I think many new players quit because of Steppes of Dew. If I see a level 8 asking for general advice in chat, I always tell them to "Take the south boat" (the one to Tindra). The poor souls who do end up on Steppes of Dew are trapped on a GIANT continent completely devoid of other players, because no one goes to Steppes of Dew. Oh and snow sucks at low levels. They don't see any other players for the first hour or two. When they finally defeat the yeti, they end up in the Orc Lands. Which is also a low-traffic area, so add another hour to that. I hope they completely revamp Steppes of Dew for the next season.
Edit: I actually met someone who enjoyed the Steppes of Dew! but he did agree it was kinda lonely. xD

Im gona start: I think the players strenght compared to the missions/monsters strenght becomes weak in middle levels, around 150. Being an obligation to play in team or farm experience, both of the options exhaustive and/or boring for the players.
What i think would be good:
More high quality quests. I sincerely miss some good quests (not missions), welt built, easier than dungeons, with good rewards such as equipment, ores and exp. Those quests would help the players become stronger while having fun.
Also, i think that blacksmithing around levels 80-150 is stronger than the level of the player, players cant make better equipment which would help them become stronger because the ores needed are in higher levels spawns. I propose puting more strong mines (ex: mithril) in easiest spawns. For example adding an aditional mithril on medusas, or adding a mithril in behemoths, or adding gold in frost dragons...

I think it'd be a better idea to slow down blacksmithing skill gains in general. I think alchemy is MUCH harder to get than blacksmithing, I'm still hundreds of star/raven herbs away from being able to harvest blood herbs and glowing mushrooms and I've already used hundreds.

Ok. Let me say. Problems are: 1. Frisiga for low levels feels like hell. Yes i did it by myself, and yes i was like it, lots of rpg feeling there, but not everyone like it. 2. Middle level players have nothing to do. I was PGing from lvl 170 to lvl 300, did it in one week. Its all because lvl 300 was my target since i created character. But not everyone can focus on high level. There is really nothing to do from lvl 150 to lvl 250, only lvling. 3. About prison island/sorcerer problem. High levels have nothing to do. Only bugged r7 that really impossible to finish, thats why most high levels dont play, only waiting to gather a team. Like i do. All i do now, training ml, and waiting for team to die at r7.

Heck we got ashfalor to 40% hp with 4 people. It's just a matter of getting a solid team together, having a plan and actually using all the resources that we have.

Starting in Frisiga is the killer in my opinion. Almost everyone who chooses that boat quits. Most of them don't even know there are two boats to choose from.
Possible solution:
Have one boat, but the NPC gives two options. One being tindra and the other Frisiga. The npc could explain that Frisiga is the more challenging beginners area perhaps, but although challenging, Frisiga has more rewarding quests. This could be for anything, experience, equipment or gold.

Ferret, you are paladin, you perfecly know there is nothing to do on lvl 150 with a paladin (im paladin). Everyone gets stuck in this level and there is nothing to do alone. Im tired of login in everyday and uping 2 levels just exploring. Not being able to pick good mines coz im too weak, not being able to make any mission, not being able to make any dungeon coz noone is online. Ofc when you were uping levels there was that grup of people, dizzy, maas, slim, akoye, dsdaisy and you were all doing quests together, but there should be the option of geting levels and becoming stronger alone because thats how the majority of players play right now. Other thing is that you love being stuk and you love playing hardstyle.

The problem is there is not many active players, because there is a decent team if you look at the highscores. But there's noone online most of the time. I (nicolaita) just see holiwix, volter, zerberker, zero shadow and shinso. These are the ones you can be sure that will log for the day. We need more active players at medium levels... By the way, if you stopped playing cuz there were no knights, you really should come back now because there's a lot.

I didn't get stuck at level 150 because I had a buttload of people to play with. we were doing Malchus, Ferumbras, exploring Azara and getting prepared for Orshabaal around that time. I didn't actually start grinding EXP until level 200-250. Play any MMO, there will always be content that you can't complete by yourself. Sadly you guys joined a server that has a lot of this content, at a time when most of the players have quit. The problem is there is not many active players, because there is a decent team if you look at the highscores. But there's noone online most of the time. It takes about a week of hard work to get a 150 knight ready for the Ruthless Seven. There's no way anyone has the patience to carry someone to hell anymore. We've done it over and over again. We still have Jamal if we ask him nicely though, we're just short on active druids!

I see... Instead of helping someone who needs help, you rather just not play at all? Makes sense... The server is dying, and dying fast. Not playing just make it faster.

I get it. You're annoyed because no one plays anymore, but blaming me for it all is a bit excessive, don't you think? In fact, I'm hoping to see the "the demonic forces will invade soon" message. Because the awesome thing about Ruthless Chaos is that it always comes back. The sooner it dies, the sooner it'll be back with even more awesome content!
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to find my flame shield...
