Just for the record, when I block Ulderek (I have tested all of this some days ago) he normally hits me for 300~550 with his melee damage (highest hit was like 590).
But when I use utamo res his hits go down to 200~400 damage, and the highest hit I got from him was around 480. Since Ulderek attacks very fast (I think he has double attackspeed or something similar), blocking around 120 more damage per hit is a lot. All the bosses I have found yet in the game have a lot of physical damage, except for maybe Ferumbras.
What I want to say is, for me (as a knight) shielding matters a lot, and we should have a propper way of making it stay even with our levels.

Hum, not what I heard, but you're the knight However it's strange many knight settle with their 75~80 skills .. I think the reason most people have "settled" for their skills is simply because of the race to be the first ones exploring new content and defeating new bosses. Nobody wants to take time off to train when others are questing and exping. That is good though, it gives you some sense of competition and a little motivation too.

To be honest, I would have enough time to train and be the first to explore a lot of places, I just don't feel like it's worth the hassle. It's so slow and doesn't really add anything to my game-play experience, as health is more important than shielding in my opinion.

Utamo res also has the flaw that it doesnt allow you to move or equip items while at it, Some bosses have some nasty waves or beams they can be easly blocked in diagonal with mwalls or terra walls but thats not always the case, and the idea of being unable of equipping stone skin amulets or might rings, which im pretty sure they will be a must on the bosses to come, I dont think utamo res will be a viable later on.

Fixuki Not everybody can spend all day every day on a game. Some people have jobs and other things to take care of.

Well you can't base a server on people having jobs and such. Everybody takes their progress in their time, it shouldnt be made easier bcs mot players have other things to do. Prioritise those things that are most important.

I think you have to base the server on reality. Reality is not everyone has their entire day to devote to a game and they still want it to be fun and competitive. I'm not saying to make the game easy because I have a job.

Implement offline trainers in Season 2 , just that , if you want to help people to skill on this season make more gargoyles spaws (with 2 gargoyles), there are 4 in Port , you can train in Cath with 2 Monks , and in Dunea Behemonths Mountain too.
Also i played with my ek without training skills and at lvl 66 he got 68/63 skills =P , so still think is not really that problem =x
Or you can just do like MacaKiller , stay one month training for 100/100 =P.

I got to college, have a job, play different sports and got a girl to spend time with, and I still think I've got plenty of time to spend training. I don't think any of it ruins the competitive part, maybe I just used the time I had a little more careful therefore progressing faster. Nowadays I'm probably one of the least active players left really, and I'm not really falling behind.
You want it based on reality, but you don't want it to be made easier because you have a job. Then why would you want the offline training/training monks as an easy escape?
As for the utamo res, being able to change rings and amulets would be a nice tweak, as long as they make sure you can't move at all while using the spell. I however haven't really had a problem blocking bosses thus far while using the spell, given that they weren't bugged. ;-)

Just thought of a random idea..
If you decide to do something in game rather than utilizing the offline training feature, you could make an NPC that charges players a fee to enter the training area each time.

To be honest, it might be wise to implement this system, since it still goes a lot slower comparably.
But mainly because many people, new people seem to really want this system. Comparing impact of inbalance versus how many players might contemplate staying because of it, it might be worth it.
Just a thought Mist.

After some days I will give my opinion. It is good, it doesnt give you too much skill end you actually have to be online and hunt to achieve soulpoints to be able to train. Very smart!
On the other hand we paladins cant train normal anymore because of the low healing of gargoyles. I dont see any reason why this nerf was necessary. Just because another trainingsystem came into play doesnt mean that the other should be replaced. And because of this the change to smallstones doesnt matter anymore because there is no sense in using them as you can use buyable spears and still train as efficient cause the "trainers" got infinate hp.
We paladins kill gargoyles so easy with smallstones when you have 100+ dist, cant you reverse the nerf to them?
