Heya!
I've heard several complaints about the map clean, which occur some time during the day. It has been kind of annoying to loose looting bags, or in worse scenarios, loosing your own corpse from death induced by this map cleaning.
I have several suggestions to make an alternate structure for the map cleaning function.
1.) Message the players earlier in the cleaning process, not five minutes prior to it. 2.) Do not clean away monster corpses (fresh) at all. 3.) Do not clean away player corpses (fresh) at all. 4.) Inform the community how the map cleaning process works, is there a specific time it happens, specific days, so that the players may adapt after this.
Kind regards. Mist.

1) That's a good idea and it will be easy to do. 2) and 3) We are actually unable to do it without redesigning a new clean system, which is not easy, and requires source code editing aswell. It would take too much time and we would rather look for other possible solutions. 4) The map cleans take place every 8 hours (We already reduced the clean rate to reduce the 'damage').
Global Cleans are supposed to be helpful for the community and that's why we try to find a proper solution to make it helpful for everybody. Thank you for the suggestion, we hope we reach our goal regarding this matter.
(PS: I saw Cruiv deleted his thread when I wanted to answer. Anyways, from here my sincere apologize for the delay!)

Thank you for answering so quickly! Appreciated.
Not to intrude, but I scummed through the sources of 10.31, and it the cleaning function loops through all items on the map, and it seems to skip items with action id's higher than 0, so one idea is to reserve a specific action id number for player corpses, having no effect but to remain uncleaned. Maybe it works.
I know you are busy, but if you got time, it might be worth checking out.
Kind regards, Mist.
